Isola 370HR Material Properties
Published 370HR laminate specifications. We verify lot availability before confirming every order.
| Property | Value | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Glass Transition (Tg) | 180°C (DSC) | Survives multiple lead-free reflow cycles without softening. |
| Decomposition Temp (Td) | ~340°C | High resistance to thermal breakdown during assembly and rework. |
| Dk (dielectric constant) | ~3.92 @ 1 GHz | Predictable impedance for controlled-impedance multilayer stackups. |
| Df (loss tangent) | ~0.021 @ 1 GHz | Adequate for digital and moderate-speed designs. |
| UL Rating | 94V-0 | Flame-retardant, meets standard safety requirements. |
| Compatibility | Lead-free & RoHS assembly | Qualified for modern lead-free SMT processes. |
370HR vs Standard FR-4 vs Low-Loss Laminates
Standard FR-4
Tg 130–140°C
Low-cost 1–4 layer boards, non-critical thermal environments.
Isola 370HR
Tg 180°C
High-layer-count multilayer, IPC Class 3, lead-free assembly, thermal endurance.
Megtron / Low-Loss
Tg 180°C+, low Df
High-speed digital (56G+), RF, and AI-server backplanes where insertion loss dominates.
Need lower loss for high-speed or RF? See our Megtron and Rogers material options, or the high-frequency PCB service page.
FAQ
Isola 370HR Questions
What is Isola 370HR?
A high-performance, lead-free-compatible FR-4 laminate/prepreg with Tg 180°C and Td around 340°C — one of the most widely qualified multilayer materials for high-reliability PCBs.
When should I specify 370HR over standard FR-4?
For lead-free assembly, high-layer-count stackups, boards that see multiple reflow cycles, or any design targeting IPC Class 3. Standard FR-4 (Tg 130–140°C) risks delamination in these conditions.
Is 370HR good for high-speed or RF designs?
370HR is excellent for digital and moderate-speed designs. For very high-speed (56G+) or RF, a low-loss laminate like Megtron or a Rogers hybrid is the better choice — we can advise on the tradeoff.
Do you verify the material and provide documentation?
Yes. We confirm 370HR laminate/prepreg availability before accepting the order and ship a Certificate of Conformance with the lot number. No unapproved substitutions.
