The halogen-free formulation eliminates bromine and chlorine-based flame retardants entirely. This matters beyond regulatory compliance: halogen-free resins produce less corrosive residue during reflow, reducing the risk of electrochemical migration failures over the product lifetime. Combined with the anti-CAF (Conductive Anodic Filament) capability, S1150G handles the fine-pitch geometries common in modern HDI builds without the CAF failure mode that plagues older FR-4 formulations at tight via-to-trace spacings.
